50 Shades of Support

50 Shades of Support

I live in Mataró, very close to Barcelona. Many friends commute daily into the metropolis, putting up with crowded trains or traffic jams. I don't. I am  Happiness Engineer for WooCommerce, a division of Automattic (and we are hiring). Our offices are not in Barcelona. Our offices are where we are. We are a distributed company. … Continue reading 50 Shades of Support →

How much would YOU pay for clean water?

How much would YOU pay for clean water?

With three friends we've decided to collect these €2,000 (or more) to add our grain of sand. On April 1st (and 2nd) we'll run 100km from Olot to Platja d’Aro, to celebrate that we made it. I won't ask you to run with us. But...

Ecologist to… Happiness Engineer? The evolution of one career in support.

A great post about how discovering your own strength sometimes is quite different to what your strengths are officially.

The intimate link between my junk drawer and my brain

The intimate link between my junk drawer and my brain

Since the birth of our twins I had to find a new thinking space. I work remotely and I manage my own time, but I can't just leave them home alone (at the tender age of 10 month) and take off. Finding the time to run now requires wrangling schedules with my husband and has ceased to … Continue reading The intimate link between my junk drawer and my brain →

How I discovered my fascination for support

No one dreams of working in support. Kids want to become school teachers, lawyers, doctors or maybe even pastry chefs, modeling people and situations they've experienced. Your teacher opened up a whole new world to you, just by explaining how letters work to form books. Your best friend’s mother is a lawyer, and that seems … Continue reading How I discovered my fascination for support →

What does a career in support look like?

What does a career in support look like?

This increasing distance to customers when advancing in a career is an odd proposition if you accept the premise that the customer ultimately is the one paying for each and every salary in a company. Working directly with the customer should be one of the most important jobs - after all it is the raison d'être of the entire construction.

My office Setup

My office Setup

Our personalized AuPair Contract

Our personalized AuPair Contract

Yay! Today we signed the contract with our new AuPair who will be joining us in late August for six month. This time we'll be hosting a German girl in our spare bedroom (see photo). We contacted her via AuPairWorld.com, which means no agency was involved. We had to take care about the contract ourselves. … Continue reading Our personalized AuPair Contract →

Birthday Reminder Shenanigans

Birthday Reminder Shenanigans

Receiving a postcard is a trigger of happiness for many people, and for me writing them is a source of joy in itself. If only I could remember everybody’s birthday ahead of time!
