What do you see when you look up?

What do you see when you look up?

I am sitting on my parents’ terrace overlooking their garden with eight plastic sheep. My mother just rearranged them. They will stay that way for the next 20 min, approximately. Then my kids will be tired of looking at the cat and resume their task of knocking the sheep over for the 17th time.

Today I have the luxury to just watch, while I sip on my coffee and work on a weekly ticket quality review. While I share the space with my 1.5 year old twins, today I can just watch them while turning frustrated customer comments into actionable items for our agents. My parents will be vigilant on my behalf.

This garden is not my usual view when I work. At home, I prefer to go to a coworking space. A short term childcare shortage, AKA an AuPair that needed to take a month off for personal reasons, brought me here. My parents are delighted to spend so much quality time with their international grand children. I enjoy the fact that I don’t have to spend any brain power on miscellaneous household tasks.

Today, looking at my twins and those eight sheep, I feel blessed. I feel like I have finally found my place in the world, working remotely, in a profession I am passionate about, doing work that I enjoy.  That’s why I snapped this picture. To remember, and to share this feeling.

PS: We are hiring.
